This Website is an easy way to start writing your school reports using the APA Style guidelines without too much fuss. From this site, you can download templates for Word 97-2003 or Word 2007-2013. You will also find instructions on how to use these templates. The 2013 version is compatible with Word 2010.
If you have problems opening the file directly, I suggest you save it instead to your "My documents" folder then, once saved, open the folder then double-click the file to launch Word with the template.
If the Word 2007/2010 template opens as a zip file or looks like garbage, please do this...
Internet Explorer users sometimes experience problems opening the 2007/2013 template. It turns into an unusable zip file. To fix the problem, either use the 2003 version (which is similar) OR right click "Download file" under the 2007 version then click "Save Target As". Once the Save dialog box opens up, choose a location (My Documents is a good choice) then MAKE SURE YOU ADD .DOTX at the end of the filename. It should be saved as "apastyle2007.dotx". Click Save. Finally, when the download is finished, click Open and Word should open properly with the template ready to use.
Important information and tips
These templates are offered "as is". There is no garantee that your teachers will go exactly by these rules. If in doubt, please check with your teacher before writing your work. If you have any suggestions for improvements, please use the Comments page.
Quick usage info: simply click the "Download file" link under the template you need then choose OPEN. Word will open, with a new, blank template ready to use. Simply type your work then save. If you typed your work already and want to paste it into the template, MAKE SURE you put the cursor on the second page (where the text should begin) then use PASTE SPECIAL (NOT the regular Paste button) and select Unformatted text from the list. Then click OK. More information is available in the "How to use the APA style tamples" PDF file.
The Revisions page will display the different revisions of the templates.
